Mrs. Cleaver

This month, our bunco group had a Halloween theme. I didn’t decide until the night before the event what I was going to go as.

I decided to channel my inner June Cleaver!

My hubby insisted on taking pictures of me before I left.

And my sweet girlfriends voted me as Best Dressed! I got the cutest scarecrow as my gift that looks great on my foyer table.

It was so fun!

Halftime- Daddy told Rhett he’d give him $1 if he could run to the farthest soccer goal and back in less than 1 minute.

He pushed hard and he made it! With only 1 second to spare!

The cooler, sunny days have been welcomed by this soccer family. We were all in considerably better moods because we weren’t so hot!!

My Baby Turned 10

At some point, I realize that I’m going to have to quit calling him my baby! Braden is 10! I say this with each of my children’s birthdays…but I just have to say it again… where does time go?? It does not seem possible that I can have a child in the double digits. It’s official… he is over halfway to adulthood now.
Wow. Is that ever crazy to think about!

He asked for a cheesecake and chocolate cupcakes. The night before his birthday, I was really busy. He offered to get in the kitchen and help me! I love this sweet boy! He made the cupcakes all by himself! All I had to do was put the icing on them the day of the party.

We rented a big bouncy mini mountain for the kids. Braden had a sleepover with some of his buddies and they jumped on this thing until I thought they would pass out. They have so much energy!
They were so sweet to let Rhett tag along with them at the sleepover. I was really proud of them.

This is seriously the sweetest, most mature and kind, well mannered group of 9-10 year old boys ever. I’m so thankful for Braden to have these awesome friends! This picture is missing one friend who came after his football practice.

At some point, Braden dove off the side of the bounce house. This particular time he face planted on the ground and got a gnarly bloody nose! Poor guy!

He said this was the best birthday ever. Nothing makes this mamma’s heart smile like seeing my kids having fun and making memories. I know he’ll remember this birthday for the rest of his life.

Happy Birthday Braden! I love you so much! I hope your 10th year is your best year yet!

This is my furry brother, Goober. He’s my parents’ baby.

He stayed with us while Mom and Dad were on vacation recently. I’m now even more convinced that he thinks he is a human. :)

Backyard Tackling Practice

The kids love hanging in the back yard with their Daddy.
This was on our only night of the week that we didn’t have practices, and Daddy got home early enough to play. They wanted to have a little tackling practice!!

What’s better than fun and laughs with the fam? Except maybe getting some energy out before bedtime?! :)

Snuggle Buddies

Last weekend, I wasn’t feeling well and had gone to lay in the bed early on Saturday night. The kids were all so sweet. The boys especially. They kept coming in to check on me and to see if I needed anything. Rhett would crawl up to me and give me a big hug and then ask if I needed anything. I think he did that at least 4 times. They refilled my Sprite a few times but mostly I told them that their hugs and them loving me and each other was making me feel better.

It wasn’t long before the two little ones came to snuggle with me and within about 30 minutes, they were sacked out.
Right on my lap.

Being a mom isn’t always easy. But Oh, how I love every minute of it. After an especially busy week/weekend of “mommy-ing”, moments like this are what remind me of my priorities and that it’s ALL worth it. Every. Single. Minute.
