Garden Growth

Remember back in May when I posted these pictures of our 2 day old garden?

2 days after planting

Here’s the growth as of June.

Here’s the growth now! You can see that the sunflowers got a little out of hand, so Jason ended up culling out over half of them. We’re pretty sure they were sucking all the water out of the ground and depriving the veggies of the water they needed.

But they sure are pretty. Especially this variety. (Don’t ask me what they’re called… I’m new at this, remember!)

And it’s fun to watch the birds feed on them too. They’ve been having a field day with these flowers- They’ve about picked them to death!

We are being overtaken by WATERMELONS!!!

I’m glad we culled those 7 seedlings down to 3… Or we may not have had a backyard left at all after they got through with it!

And don’t forget about our carrots. I’ve been dreaming of making a pot of homemade soup with my prize carrots….. unless they take off with the growing, looks like I need to rethink my ingredient list…

I think we may try to do a bigger garden next year with more veggies. We’ve had fun watching everything grow and can’t wait to taste the fruits of our labor!

Gracie’s Birthday Party

We had Gracie’s 4th birthday party at our neighborhood pool house.  She requested a “Hawaii party” and I was more than happy to oblige! It was a very fun party! Tasha came over early to help me decorate, and I was so excited that everything turned out SO great!

Here’s her cake that I made. She wanted it “tall like a wedding cake”!

Thanks for all of your help Tasha! It’s hard to believe how fast time has flown by! We have been friends since 4th grade!

We had a wonderful time!! Gracie said it was “the best birthday ever”, so in my mind… Mission Accomplished. Thank you so much to all who came to celebrate with us!

Gracie is 4!

Our "baby" girl is now 4!
4 just seems so much older than 3. She seems all grown up now.
*Sniff. Sniff*
We tried to make the day of her birthday as special as possible for her!
The birthday girl got a candle in her waffle at breakfast.
Mamma, the boys and MeMe took the birthday girl to Chuck E Cheese for lunch and gave her the star treatment.

Memphis Day 3- Last Day

We were in the mood for some relaxation by the time Day 3 arrived. We were supposed to be headed home on this Sunday morning, but due to the tire fiasco, we had to wait until Monday morning to get new tires for the camper. Darn! So we spent Sunday lounging around the camper/campground. It was wonderful!

Rhett came to snuggle with Mamma and Daddy early in the morning.
(I'm sure I'll never regret having lots of sweet snuggling pictures like this.
I don't want to ever forget these sweet times.)

While the other kids were still sleeping.

Daddy and the kids rented these little ATV bikes. They had fun!
Shuffleboard
Braden played some ping pong. After he wore his Daddy out, he suckered one of the Jellystone Park employees into a game!
There were activities going on all day. We passed on most of them, but Gracie did want to do the ceramic painting. She picked a birdhouse and had fun painting it!

Afternoon wagon ride with Yogi Bear!

Lots of bike riding!

Daddy and the boys playing darts while I cooked supper.

Sunday night, Daddy had to get to work about the time the sun set.
That's just part of the krazy life of the Kennetts!
The kids all snuggled up in their room and watched tv together after their baths.

We really enjoyed our long weekend in Memphis. We came back from the trip rested and relaxed. And that was our main goal all along. Ahhh. Love family time!!!

Memphis Day 2- The Zoo

This was our first time to visit the Memphis Zoo. We'd heard great things about it, but we had to see it for ourselves. It was fabulous! I can't wait to go back. We spent all day there and still didn't get to see everything.
