We had a nice relaxing morning. We got off the ship around noon, then we waited outside in the hot sunshine for an hour before our guide came to walk us to the boat that would take us to the private island we booked for the day.
Here's the kids standing outside of the ship.
We made it to the boat! There was about 200 people on this boat. We were on the bottom level in the middle. We were facing forward, which was good, but I couldn't really see very well and the water was rough. It didn't make for a great combination. I was so sick to my stomach. I just kept praying that I wouldn't throw up right there on/in front of all those people! Praise the Lord, I didn't! I put a cool baby wipe on my neck and stared straight forward and it helped.
The island was GORGEOUS!!!! Just like I had imagined!
The kids and Jason played and played and played! I played some and tried to relax in my chair some too.(About a total of 30 minutes...!) We had a total of about 3 1/2-4hrs on the island before we had to head back.
Gracie was tired and got FULL of sand, so she laid down for a few minutes to rest. She sure had a nice spot to lay!
Here's my view from my lounge chair.
And right above me... the coconut tree!
Scenery around my chair:
Jason found these 2 little hermit crabs and here's Rhett holding them in his hand. They were TINY!
I took Gracie out into the water. She wasn't too sure about it!
The boys played beach volleyball. The first thing they thought of was that we needed to take pictures for PaPa!!
Jason caught this little crab and was letting it crawl all over him. The kids thought that was so cool!
Here's Daddy and the kids on the boat getting ready to head back. We sat on the top and it was MUCH better! The breeze in my face was so nice. I didn't feel sick at all.
The water was just beautiful everywhere we went. This is water right by where we were swimming just a few minutes before. As we were on the boat before we headed out, we saw a 4 ft sand shark swimming around. Where we had just been! Scary!
Here's the Atlantis resort in the distance.
After we got off the boat, we had a very short time before our 6pm dinner on the ship. We could've just eaten somewhere on shore or eaten in one of the casual restaurants on the ship, but we really didn't want to miss the meal. The food was always awesome and we loved our waiter. It was just such a nice, relaxing way to have a meal. Plus, it was already paid for! We went into the first souvenier shop we found, got our goodies and headed back to the ship. We couldn't miss the opportunity to take a picture underneath the Bahamas sign first though!
We got back on board, went straight to our room, and very quickly got ready for dinner. All 5 of us were dressed up and ready in less than 15 minutes. Are you impressed?!?! Well, you should be! I was sweating!! It was so worth it though. The dinner was absolutely delicious.
Braden snapped this picture of me and Jason after dinner.
After dinner, we dropped the kids off at Camp Carnival and I was a little chilly in my sleeveless dress, so I changed and then we walked around the decks. It was a gorgeous evening. I had been wanting a Bahama Mama all day. It just seemed like the right thing to do, you know? Have a Bahama Mama in the Bahamas!
Here I am! It was yummy!!
After this night, we only had 1 more day on the ship. But, then we decided to take off work on Monday too(perks of being the boss!) and spend the night in Jacksonville when we got off the ship on Saturday. So, at this point, we still had 4 days before we got home. I'll be back with the next installment soon! I hope you are enjoying our look back at our fabulous, first one in 10 years, vacation!
