What Happens in Vegas...

...ends up on my blog!!!

I can't say enough how WONDERFUL our "mom and dad only" trip to Las Vegas was! We had so much fun, and marveled over the quiet that dominated our time. No bickering or fighting to break up. No griping or complaining about being tired or hungry. Wow- did we ever realize that we deserve some time like that to ourselves without our kiddos every once in a while! Of course, we talked about them the whole time and were glad to get back to them, but a couple days break was much needed. The two of us are best friends and we actually have a blast together when we get the chance. I'm so thankful for that. And for our trip.

We left on Thursday around noon. We had a 2 hr and 55 min flight. We each had our Zune's and we watched episodes of SNL that I had downloaded on them. When the videos were over, we listened to music. We took turns picking a song and then we started them at the same time so that way we could lip sync and play air drums/guitar in sync. :) Too bad the people next to us were napping because I'm sure it was an awesome show. Ha!

When we got close to Vegas, we put the MP3 players away and enjoyed the scenery out the plane window.

This is Hoover Dam!
We stayed at the MGM Signature. It was awesome. Connected to the MGM but with a separate entrance. It was quiet and non-smoking. There are 3 different towers to this resort, and we were in the one farthest away from the MGM, but, it wasn't a bad walk. We were actually pretty thankful for the built in exercise.

We were on the 38th Upper Penthouse Floor. We had a corner room with a balcony. It was
A-W-E-S-O-M-E!

This is the view when you walk into the room. To the left was a full kitchen as well as a "guest" bathroom.

This was our bedroom. The tv on the desk actually slid down into the desk when you turned the power off and came back up when you turned the power back on.

What you see right when you walk in the master bathroom. There was another vanity/sink to the left as well as a separate water closet. There was a wall mounted tv on the counter as well. Jason told me not to get any ideas, but it was too late. I need a tv in my bathroom now!

Gettin' ready to hit the town on our first night.

Couple views from atop the Eiffel Tower.

The Bellagio water fountains seen from the Eiffel Tower.

Ordering room service breakfast is something we almost always do when we're traveling. This time was no exception. Except that this was the best room service breakfast we've ever had.

So Yummy!! We ordered the exact same thing the next morning too!

Getting ready to hit the town Day 2

The Stratosphere

We decided to walk from the Stratosphere down to the Venetian, with a couple stops in between. It didn't seem too far, but I think we must have walked a few miles before we finally got there. We were pooped!

At the Venetian

After we finally got to the Venetian, we ate at Mario Batali's restaurant. That night, we went to see Cirque du Soleil's "KA" at the MGM, and had dinner at Emeril's.

Day 3 At Caesar's Palace

We didn't gamble much, but we did play a few slots. I was wasting a $5 bill on some penny slots and Jason puts a $5 in the machine next to me and wins $65 dollars! Here he is cashing out.
Thanks, Caesar's Palace, for buying our lunch at Mesa Grill! :) It was delish. And a very cool place.

That night, we went to see Phantom of the Opera at the Venetian. We got back to the MGM just when the Welterweight title boxing match was over. There was 18,000 people exiting the arena and we had to walk the opposite way through all of them to get back to our room. Yikes! It was kind of neat to be there for it though, so we didn't complain too much. Jason just grabbed my hand tight and we took off parting the seas of people.

We had to be up by 4:30am the next morning to get to the airport for our early flight, which was my least favorite part and my only complaint about the trip. But, it was nice to be home early. We landed at noon and were home shortly after that. We were so glad to see our kiddos and we had a few hours that evening to just snuggle on the couch with them and relax.

Thank you again to MeMe and Gramma for taking good care of the munchkins for us so that we could go. We never worried about them for a second and you'll never know just how much it meant to us to be able to get away for a few days. We love you guys!
