New Rooms: The Office

So, since the office is now Gracie’s room, you may be wondering where in the heck the office is now.

Well, wonder no more! :)

Remember that little space under the stairs that I used for my scrapbooking stuff?

It was certainly a challenge to get ALL of our office stuff organized into this little space, but it’s working out very nicely. I actually love having my office right off of the living room. I can work in the office without feeling like I’m separated from the rest of the family and I can still interact with the kids while working, etc.

Since day 1, I knew that the key to having this small space work for me, I’d have to keep it super organized. So far, I’d give myself a C+. Some days are better than others in this department. But, I am trying really hard to keep it up.

Plus, this is my hubby’s biggest, and pretty much only, pet peeve (messy office) so he’s been doing a pretty good job of keeping me accountable. I still need to do a better job of caring that this is important to him. Since he is now using the same desk space as me, it doesn’t go unnoticed when it’s a MESS :)

We moved some of the other office furniture into the living room and rearranged things there as well.

So far, it’s working very nicely for us. We certainly won’t be winning any home design awards, but what matters to us is that our space is as functional as possible. And as of right now, we’re doing much better in that department than we were before!

Love all the rooms! It always feels so good getting organized....not my strength! So where is baby girl going to sleep? will she share with Gracie?

Thanks!! The plan is for her and Gracie to eventually share. Her bed is a trundle bed, so there's room for 2 to sleep and the girls will have their own bathroom separate from the boys. Although, the plan has always been to have her sleep in our room in a crib until she's 2 or so. But, I'm beginning to wonder if we'll even get her home before she turns 2! Only God knows, right?!
