Night Terrors???

Well.... we had another bad night with Rhett. He went to school yesterday and did great. He went to bed fine last night. Jason was working on a report on the computer and I was just getting ready to go to bed. Then it happened, Rhett came out of his bed, bursted through his bedroom door and was in la-la land. He looked terrified and was whimpering. Apparently he's having night terrors, or something. He was acting similar to the way he was on Sunday night, but this time, we ran for the thermometer right away and there was no fever at all.

It seemed like it lasted forever. Since there was no fever, I was freaking out inside because I couldn't figure out what was going on or why it was happening. I think it only lasted 3 or 4 minutes. Then he started acting like Rhett again and said he was really tired.

We put him in the bed with me and he went right back to sleep. Jason stayed up all night again b/c he was worried about it. He had a ton of paperwork to do in the office before today anyway... About midnight, it happened again. I was awake most of the night. I slept with my hand on his chest and I could feel when his heart would start to beat harder and faster and when his breathing would get faster. Then I would grab him and hold him until he relaxed again. I don't know if this helped or not, but he didn't do it again the rest of the night.

We looked it up on the internet, and it's common in children age 3-10 and is common in children when a major life change happens. ie: moving and school starting. He's been fine with the move, he's been sleeping great until now. I don't know if school starting has had something to do with it or not...

We're taking him to see his pediatrician this afternoon after school, just to get him checked out and make sure everything is ok.

Please pray for Rhett. And for the rest of us... we're not getting much sleep these days either...
